International School for Sree Sankaracharya Studies 

Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady

 

Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady with the help of Govt. of Kerala has established International School for Sri Sankaracharya Studies for the study on Sankara philosophy and his works in the year 2014. The School shall strive for the specific purpose of imparting/propagating Sanskrit language and literature, Intensive research on Sankara philosophy and his works in the light of other major classical philosophies of the world and Indian culture and promoting research and extension programs. The main objectives of the school include the study and research on Advaita Darsana of Sree Sankara, multifaceted Sankara, evaluation of Advaita Vedanta in the light of all other major world philosophies, interaction with various Madhoms established by Sree Sankara and with other Indian and Foreign Universities, conducting seminars, workshops and lectures at different places in India, printing and publishing of books and journals of International standard on life, work and studies of Sankara. Furthermore, of the main objectives of the School includes documentation of life history of Acharya Sankara, translation of all works of Sree Sankara into English and all other Indian languages, conducting short term courses on Sanskrit, Sankara and Culture through Electronic and other Direct Medias, conducting exhibition of life history of Sree Sankara and establishing of Sankara museum and Sree Sankara International Library etc.

Vision

Explore the Advaitic precept of nondual reality to string divergent philosophies in the thread of pure consciousness, to create a better knowledge society.

Mission

To engage the philosophy of Acharya Sankara along with parallel streams of philosophies that have critically enriched it, with an aim to contextualize the thought, and thereby revamp the society with its ideals, a mission to be realized through incessant dialogues with institutions and individuals world over.
